Wednesday’s Daily Fantasy MLB Pregame Update
Four games have already been sacked by rain, leaving just nine other games on the slate for Wednesday night. The weather in Kansas City and Minneapolis was a question earlier in the day, but the Twin Cities appear to be dealing with only a smattering of drizzle. Today's game looks a lot better than earlier. These teams are already slated for a doubleheader Thursday after Tuesday's rainout, so they'll likely do all they can to play Wednesday.
POSTPONED GAMES, as of 4:30pm ET -- Pittsburgh-Baltimore, Tampa Bay-Boston, N.Y. Mets-Philadelphia, Seattle-N.Y. Yankees

(DraftStreet.com salaries listed in parentheses)
Both OFs B.J. Upton ($4630) and Justin Upton ($7397) are back in the lineup after getting a night off to rest Tuesday in Miami. INF Ramiro Pena, who started Tuesday, is back on the pine with 2B Dan Uggla ($3764) also back from rest. While Uggla is terrible with batting average, in Daily Fantasy play he is worth a look with a low salary and power potential. ... 3B Chris Johnson ($3385), who also rested Tuesday, is in the starting nine.
Indians 2B Jason Kipnis (abdomen) left Tuesday's game due to an abdominal injury, and he is not in the lineup for Wednesday's series finale. INF Elliot Johnson gets the start at second base in Kipnis' absence, batting ninth. ... OF Michael Brantley (rest) also gets a day off to rest, coupled with tomorrow's scheduled off day. INF Mike Aviles ($4054) scoots out to left field for a rare start, but likely can only be plugged in at shortstop and third base with most Daily Fantasy providers. He is a nice low-priced option since he'll get regular at-bats out of the two hole.
Rockies 3B Nolan Arenado ($7025) carries the longest active hitting streak in the majors into play, as he has hit safely in 19 consecutive games. Only teammate 1B Justin Morneau ($9739) has a streak within seven games of that. Both are solid plays against Arizona Diamondbacks SP Josh Collmenter ($11825).
LOS ANGELES DODGERS
With use of the designated hitter in an American League park, manager Don Mattingly has the luxury of using OF Andre Ethier ($5666) as his DH, while also starting OF Yasiel Puig ($8278) in right, OF Matt Kemp ($7007) in center and OF Carl Crawford ($6517) in left, who is batting out of the ninth spot, by the way. ... C Drew Butera ($4285) also gets the starting nod behind the dish, and he could be a low-priced punt option to allot salary to more valuable positions.
Athletics OF Yoenis Cespedes ($7026) (hamstring) is back in the starting lineup. He started Tuesday, but was forced out earlier due to a hamstring issue. He is a bit risky, especially at this price level. ... SS Jed Lowrie (rest) is out of the lineup Wednesday, presumably to rest. INF Nick Punto ($4058) gets the starting nod at shortstop and might be a good 'punt' option, if you want to save salary elsewhere. Yes, pun was totally intended, too. ... 1B Brandon Moss (rest) is out of the lineup.
Rangers OF Shin-Soo Choo ($7358) is atop the lineup again, and he is serving as the designated hitter for the second consecutive game back. He did not suffer any ill-effects of his injury Tuesday, so he is a decent play in a lefty vs righty matchup.
TORONTO BLUE JAYS
Blue Jays 3B Brett Lawrie (rest) is not in the starting lineup, as 3B Juan Francisco ($4674) takes a turn against Kansas City Royals SP Yordano Ventura ($10138). Perhaps manager John Gibbons is trying to protect Lawrie's fragile, growing confidence, rather than have him face a fireballer with plenty of strikeout potential. ... 2B Chris Getz is back in the lineup for a second straight day against his old team.
In a lefty vs lefty matchup, Nationals 1B Adam LaRoche (rest) grabs some pine tonight, with 1B-OF Tyler Moore ($3966) starting at first base. Moore bats fifth, and might be a favorable start with a lower salary in a nice spot in the lineup. ... As a result, 2B-OF Kevin Frandsen ($5329) makes a start in left field.
