Doublelift Lives the AD Carry Experience.

Doublelift Lives the AD Carry Experience.

In the current state of League of Legends, the AD Carry position has become a mockery. The marksman meta is down to Jhin, Ashe and Varus because their ultimates supply the team with crowd control. It’s comparable to the ninth man in the batting order. You’re not expected to have a great batting average or hit a bunch of home runs because you supply the team with utility.

With tanks such as Maokai, Nautilus and Shen, it’s impossible to damage the front line. Add in the stealthed junglers like Rengar and Kha’zix that can take drop you from 100-0 very quickly, marksman are at an all-time low. The goal as an ADC has changed from dealing unequivocal amounts of damage to attempting to stay alive. And as you’ll see via Doublelift’s stream, that’s easier said than done.

It’s one thing to get burst down by another champion. At least someone sitting in front of another computer pressed a button to warrant you dead. In this instance, a stray Zyra plant sitting in a bush obliterates Doublelift’s health bar. At the very least, the thorn spitter was enraged by Zyra’s Stranglethorns to deal some bonus damage but it’s still a sad sight for a full build Varus. It’s no doubt humbling for one of the best ADC’s in the world to be taken down by a plant.

If you’re an ADC main the future is bleak. Luckily, lethality received some buffs but in turn that means the return of champions such as Zed and Talon. So in the end, I guess the moral of the story is that playing ADC is depressing.
