Team SoloMid’s Hauntzer Shows That Tanks Are Still Broken
I'm not one to complain, but sometimes the balance team at Riot Games can be questionable. I get that it's difficult to monitor and alter the performance of over 130 unique champions but tanks have been causing chaos on the rift for a few patches now. Ever since the new mastery 'Courage of the Colossus' came out, tanks have been borderline unkillable. The lethality changes help somewhat but too many times do see a full tank such as, Maokai, Poppy, Shen, etc, absorb damage from a full team and still kill the AD Carry. With that said, in this weekend's match-up between TeamSoloMid and FlyQuest, TSM's top laner Hauntzer, showed us the ridiculousness of Nautilus.
The video by LoLGates generously counts the number of turret shots that Hauntzer takes so we don't have to. He sits under both nexus turrets for around 30 seconds initiating on the enemy team with his dredge line while taking tower damage and getting harassed by FLY. At the end of it all, Hauntzer ate 31 turret shots and still came away with about 1/6th his HP remaining. Sure he received Nami heal's along with that from redemption but his low cool-down shield along with Courage of the Colossus negates way too much damage. On top of that, he dealt the second most damage on his team behind only Bjergsen. It's one thing to be super tanky, but it's another to out DPS champions that were meant to do damage. Needless to say Hauntzer wasn't killed in this contest...
