Why You Should Watch CounterStrike: Global Offensive
One week prior to the record setting scene that was Super Bowl 51 was an epic eSport event that nearly mimicked the intensity of New England's comeback victory over Atlanta. In case you missed it, the ELEAGUE CS:GO Major from (fittingly) Atlanta, Georgia was a massive success. The grand finals between Astralis and Virtus Pro was one of the best matches in the history of eSports..... and it has the numbers to prove it.
Game 2 of the finals shattered the record for most concurrent viewers on Twitch with 890,000. Later on in game 3, ELEAGUE bested themselves climbing all the way to 1.026 million viewers. The event was also broadcast on TBS where it received over 3.6 million unique viewers, 1.8 million of which were first time ELEAGUE watchers.
If you aren't into CounterStrike: Global Offensive, it's an easy eSport for beginners to learn and it's currently one of the most entertaining. The guys from Shot Callers Esports explained why you should get into CS:GO.
To wrap up the ELEAGUE major, this tweet of Astralis celebrating their massive win should do.
