10 Fantasy Football Things We Were All Right About in 2015
The Fantasy Football regular season is behind us, with just the Fantasy playoffs ahead in Weeks 14-16. (For those of you in Week 17 Championship Games, I’ll try to type slowly and use small words.)
So since half of us are sitting on the couch, out of the Fantasy playoffs, this weekend, I thought now is a good time to look at 10 things we got right in 2015.
It’s amazing how we can recognize now how smart we were back then! (For a slice of humble pie, though, you can check out the 10 Fantasy Football Things We Were All Wrong About in 2015.)
10 Fantasy Football Things We Nailed in 2015
Let’s all pat ourselves on the back for these positive prognostications!
1. Todd Gurley would be a darn good Fantasy rookie once he’s healthy.
It took just his second NFL game (Week 4) for those that gambled on the UGA product to reap big rewards.
2. Adrian Peterson is NOT too old to be awesome again in Fantasy.
At 30 years old, coming off a 15-game suspension, A.P. ranks at the top, or second from the top, in non-PPR formats.
3. Odell Beckham Jr. was NOT a fluke!
While he’s not on pace to put up the numbers his rookie season would have extrapolated out to, he’s still a top-three wide receiver.
4. Peyton Manning is no longer a great Fantasy option.
Shades of Brett Favre’s final season made us realize what we had all taken for granted for so many years.
5. Rob Gronkowski is a top-10 pick – when he’s healthy.
Dig this – after 12 weeks, before his latest injury, Gronk had 147.10 Fantasy points in non-PPR leagues, which would rank him behind just four wide receivers this year.
6. Jimmy Graham is in deep trouble in Seattle.
Not counting his season-ending knee injury, Graham was already a major Fantasy disappointment in Pete Carroll’s offense.
7. Carson Palmer could have a big season – if he stays healthy.
Coming off a torn ACL – his second of his career – Palmer ended up being the 20th quarterback taken according to ADP on MyFantasyLeague.com. Tom Brady and Cam Newton are the only players with more Fantasy points this season!
8. Joseph Randle's head issues make him too sketchy to rely on as an early round pick.
The Cowboys cut him, and now Darren McFadden is playing really well in his absence.
9. This year’s rookie WRs will be a far cry from last year’s rookie WRs.
Outside of Raiders WR Amari Cooper, this year’s group of first-year wide receivers is pretty dismal. Stefon Diggs is the second-best one – and he’s 44th among WRs in Fantasy. Last year, we saw FIVE rookie WRs in the top 25, and eight in the top 44.
10. Tom Brady was going to make everyone pay for all the #DeflateGate crap.
While he’s not going to break the TD passing record like he did the year after SpyGate, Brady is the highest scoring Fantasy player in the game. Not bad for a guy that got drafted in Round 6 or so. (I guess that makes us wrong about him, though, if we waited until Round 6. Whatever.)
Knowing we were all right about those 10 things in 2015 should make our chests swell with pride! Now, check out the “10 Fantasy Football Things We Were All Wrong About in 2015” for a little humility!
