3 NBA FanDuel Value Plays to Target on 3/17/21
One of the keys to finding success in daily fantasy basketball is uncovering potential value plays. If you’re looking to roster a stud player or two, you need to consider squeezing in one of these lower-salaried options into your lineup.
Let’s take a look at three players who can help fill in the gaps in your lineup.
Caris LeVert, SG, Indiana Pacers ($4,400)
On top of having a very strong over/under, both teams are in the top 10 for offensive pace this season, presenting a favorable environment for fantasy production. We also see the Nets allowing the sixth-most (42.53) FanDuel points per game to opposing shooting guards this season. Caris LeVert made his Pacers’ debut over the weekend where he played 26 minutes and followed up with 29 minutes in his most recent game against the Denver Nuggets.
Tonight, LeVert is projected for 31.53 minutes and 33.0 FanDuel points, which makes him the best-projected value option on the entire slate. This is great to see since his salary hasn’t risen alongside his increase in minutes, making him a very obvious value option tonight. Expect LeVert to be popular in all formats tonight since he should be a lock for 30-plus minutes, the game environment is super strong, and has a soft defensive matchup. Oh, and he also has a revenge narrative versus his former team, if you’re into that sort of thing.
Rui Hachimura, SF, Washington Wizards ($5,000)
This game features a staggering 248-point over/under, which is the highest on the slate by 14 points. The scoring potential from both teams is massive, the value potential from both teams is massive, and you should plan on getting exposure to this game in multiple ways. One clear value option is Rui Hachimura, who has exceeded 1.00 FanDuel point per minute in each of his last two games, due in large part to his increase in his shooting volume. In these past two games, Hachimura took 18 field goal attempts in each outing, with 9 and 5 of those attempts coming from three-point range.
That volume of three-pointers is something to monitor, considering he has only two games of five three-point attempts or more for the entire season. Maybe it was due to the matchup versus the Milwaukee Bucks, who are allowing opponents to make the fifth-most (14.2) three-pointers per game. That three-point volume has a good chance of continuing tonight since the Kings are allowing the eighth-most (13.3) made three-pointers per game by opposing teams. If Hachimura’s three-point volume is going to stay elevated due to a soft defensive matchup, he has the ability to exceed 1.00 FanDuel point per minute quickly.
Marcus Morris, PF, Los Angeles Clippers ($3,700)
If you need some deep savings at power forward tonight, consider Marcus Morris.
It was reported the other day that Morris will be in the starting lineup ahead of Nicolas Batum going forward for the Los Angeles Clippers. While he won’t have a high usage rate being in the same lineup as Kawhi Leonard and Paul George, he is still producing 0.78 FanDuel points per minute on the season, which is strong for a player under $4,000.
Tonight’s matchup versus the Dallas Mavericks is set to be a close one, with a 2.0-point spread and a 226.5 over/under. This should give Morris plenty of time to reach value, which won’t be difficult, since his salary is so low. He comes in projected for 29.98 minutes and 22.1 FanDuel points, which makes him the best-projected value option among power forwards tonight.
