With the recent explosion of Daily Fantasy Football games, Thanksgiving has taken a different look over the past few years. It used to be people would make friendly wagers with their uncle or their brother-in-laws on the Thursday’s NFL games, but then, after Uncle Gus welshed on that sawbuck you won from him, it turned you as bitter as Aunt Judy’s unsweetened cranberry sauce.
But now, we have several Thanksgiving Day Fantasy Football games we can play that includes just the six teams involved. How awesome is that?
So I thought I’d go through of few of my favorites, where I plan to play some Fantasy Football – after tossing around the pigskin in the backyard, of course!
5 Daily Fantasy Football Games for Thanksgiving Day Only
Cost: $25 – Entrants: 44 – Prizes: $1,000 GPP (that means it will pay out that amount, even if it doesn’t fill up!)
The way this game works is you choose from different sets of players to fill out your lineup. They have the players separated in four groups: A, B, C and D, with A being the best players and D being the worst group. You can choose your formation – do you want eight total players, with two from each group, or do you think you’d do better with more stars, but just seven players (3-A, 2B, 1C, 1D), or would it be prudent to go with nine players and fewer starts (1A, 3B, 2C, 3D)? (I like Joique Bell in Group C!)
Cost: $25 – Entrants: Up to 57K – Prizes: $1,250,000 GPP
In a tournament this big, you better load up on some longshots if you hope to take home a big chunk of that cool million bucks! I’m digging a cheap play in Cole Beasley against the Eagles for $4,500!
Cost: $27 – Entrants: 127 – Prizes: $3,000 GPP
It’s a single-entry game, which means there won’t be those guys out there rolling the dice with 20 lineups in the game. That’s good news for us! Winner brings home $500, and the top 30 players get paid at least $50! The 49ers for $3,100 is a steal!
Cost: $20 – Entrants: 113 – Prizes: $2,000 GPP
The winner gets $320 and the top 25 finishers get paid! You get to start two quarterbacks in this game, which really makes for an interesting Turkey Day lineup, since there are only six quarterbacks expected to play! You also get two flex players in your lineup – it’s madness!
Cost: $33 – Entrants: 175 – Prizes: $5,258 GPP
The winner earns entry into their Week 16 $100,000 Feud of Champions – which is nice! If you finish close to the top, you can still earn entry into the bigger qualifying tournaments. I like the 50/50 games myself, and you get two starting quarterbacks and two flex players in this one, too!
I hope you enjoy these Turkey Day Daily Fantasy Football games – enjoy second place with your mom’s lump gravy!
