Alex Smith expected to start for Washington Football Team

Alex Smith is expected to start Sunday night for the Washington Football Team. Smith has been out with a calf injury and has yet to have a full practice this week. The WFT can clinch a playoff berth with a win over the Eagles on Sunday. A loss, however, would see the winner of the game between the Cowboys and Giants as NFC East champions, and thus they would head to the playoffs and not Washington.
The Eagles have nothing to play for in this game and have already stated that almost a dozen players won’t participate because of one injury or another. If Alex Smith can’t go, Taylor Heinicke will make his first start of the season as the team has zero other options after releasing Dwayne Haskins earlier this week. The Eagles opened up the week as one-point favorites in this game, but due to the amount of Eagle players who are taking the game off, the WFT is now favorite to win by 3.5 points.
