Alvin Kamara (COVID-19) Could Play in a Sunday Wild-Card Game

Alvin Kamara could be available to play in the Wild-Card round if the NFL were to schedule the Saints to play on 1/10 and not 1/9. It’s amazing what one day will mean. Kamara tested inconclusive for COVID earlier Friday, but then a second test came back positive, and he was placed on COVID-IR. It was initially thought that Kamara would have to miss the wild-card game, but he is asymptomatic, and if he tests negative for 10 straight days, he would be eligible to play 1/10.
Kamara will miss the game Sunday versus Carolina. Although unlikely, the Saints could still get the number one see in the NFC if they win, the Seahawks win, and the Packers lose. The Saints lose a tiebreaker to the Packers if it’s head to head, but a three-way tie would give the edge to the Saints.
Kamara has had an outstanding season that culminated by tying a record for most touchdowns by a running back with six on Christmas Day. Kamara won’t win MVP, but Offensive Player of the Year may not be out of reach. The Saints are currently favored by 6.5 points over Carolina this week.
