Best FanDuel Plays at Each Position For AFC & NFC Championship Games
With just two NFL games this weekend, there are just four teams to choose from for this week’s FanDuel Sunday Million tournament for the AFC and NFC Championship Games. So I went through the salaries for each player and looked at their upcoming matchups to determine the best FanDuel plays at each position this weekend.
Best FanDuel Plays at Each Position
Figure these players to be better cash game plays than for GPP tournaments, although, many can also be used as cornerstones for a solid high-ceiling FanDuel GPP lineup.
Carson Palmer, QB, Arizona -- $7,700
With just four quarterbacks going this weekend, you don’t have many options. Plus, they’re all going up against pretty good defenses, so the best choice for me comes down to the best group of wide receivers at his disposal. No doubt, one of the Cardinals wide receivers will be erased by cornerback Josh Norman (my guess is Michael Floyd), but Larry Fitzgerald and John Brown sealed the deal for Palmer being the top QB.
Jonathan Stewart, RB, Carolina -- $7,000
While David Johnson might have just a good a matchup (the Cardinals and Panthers defenses both rank ninth against running backs in Fantasy points allowed), Stewart is $1,000 cheaper. Plus, he’s at home, has just as good a matchup as Johnson, and he’s coming off a big game against the Seahawks, while Johnson rushed for 2.3 yards per carry last week.
Demaryius Thomas, WR, Denver -- $7,600
The Broncos might have one of the shakiest quarterbacks left in the playoffs, but they also have the best passing matchup during these AFC and NFC Championship Games. I’m going with either Thomas or Emmanuel Sanders this week, possibly coupled with Larry Fitzgerald, playing in the slot for Arizona. Thomas is the better wide receiver over Sanders, and a beast when he’s fed, so I’m going with him.
Rob Gronkowski, TE, New England -- $8,900
There’s a reason why Gronk is the most expensive player on FanDuel this week. The Broncos have a tough time against tight ends, and Tom Brady is going to go to him early and often – especially near the end zone.
Graham Gano, K, Carolina -- $4,700
Going up against the Cardinals, the Panthers should have a few drives stall in scoring position, and the Cardinals defense has allowed more field goals this season than any of the other teams left in the playoffs. Gano is also kicking at home and in better weather than the two teams in Denver.
New England Patriots Defense -- $4,600
The Patriots defense is the cheapest of the week, but they’re also facing the worst offense of the weekend. Considering the Panthers, Broncos and Cardinals are all facing the first-, second- and third-best offenses in the NFL respectively, then the Patriots defense really looks like the best play at the position, in spite of their lack of playmakers. Plus, Peyton Manning is still the shakiest gun in the west.
Hopefully, you can use some of these quality FanDuel plays for your cash games lineup this weekend in one of the last chances at Daily Fantasy Football dominance this season!
