Buffalo Bills top two receivers did not practice on Wednesday
The two biggest weapons in Josh Allen’s receiving attack did not practice on Wednesday. Stefon Diggs, nursing an oblique issue, was limited on Tuesday but completely held out today. It looks more like a situation of Buffalo choosing to give their star receiver some rest; after all, Diggs did somewhat surprisingly play in much of the team’s Week 17 game against Miami. Expect the 2020 league-leader in receiving yards to be out there against the Colts this weekend.
Cole Beasley is another story. The team’s second-leading receiver on the heels of a near 1,000-yard season is dealing with a lingering knee injury. Beasley did not play in the Bills season finale last weekend and did not participate in practice on Tuesday. The Bills wideout looks like he may not be able to suit up on Saturday afternoon against Indianapolis. If Beasley, who’s already been called week-to-week, can’t go, Gabriel Davis and Isaiah McKenzie will see an expanded role in the Bills’ pass-heavy offense.
