Edwards-Helaire is officially listed as questionable for the Chiefs’ Divisional Round matchup vs. the Browns, but he will not be able to suit up. Edwards-Helaire suffered a hip injury in Week 15 and has been out of the lineup ever since, but there was some optimism that he would be able to return for the playoffs. That won’t happen this week, but ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that he’s “very close” and would likely be available if the Chiefs can advance to the AFC Championship.
With Edwards-Helaire out of the lineup, expect Le’Veon Bell and Darrel Williams to split the workload at running back. Bell will likely grab most of the opportunities – he saw three additional carries and three additional targets in Week 16 – but there’s no guarantee either player will provide much fantasy value. The Browns have been much worse against the pass than the run, and the Chiefs have arguably the best passing game in the business.
The Chiefs are currently listed as 7.5-point favorites against the Browns on FanDuel Sportsbook.
