Devils’ goaltender Corey Crawford will be away from the team for an unknown timeframe. Crawford has missed five straight days of training camp after sitting out the past three for personal reasons. The veteran tender missed the first two days of camp for load management, but it appears there is a more severe issue that will keep him away for a little while.
Crawford signed a two-year $7.8 million deal with New Jersey in the off-season after playing his entire 14-year career with the Chicago Blackhawks. The 36-year-old went 16-20-3 with a 2.77 GAA and a .917 save percentage.
