Derek Carr Limited in Practice but Hopeful to Play Against Miami Dolphins

Derek Carr was a limited participant in Tuesday’s practice as the Raiders quarterback tries to test out his groin after appearing to strain it in Thursday’s game against the Chargers. Carr ended up splitting the practice reps with Marcus Mariota, and it’s unclear which quarterback will be under center to take on the Miami Dolphins on Saturday night.
NFL Network’s Steve Wyche reports that the final decision will be made by the Raiders’ coaches and training staff. Carr says he feels good and is optimistic about being able to take the field on Saturday. If Carr is able to play, he’ll have been well ahead of the initial diagnosis that suggested he could be out for up to 14 days with the injury.
The Raiders need to beat Miami to have any chance to make the playoffs. Right now, they’re two games out of the final playoff spot.
This is one game you’ll want to be on the lookout for regarding any injury updates. Las Vegas is as high as a three-point underdog in the betting markets against Miami.
