According to Omari Sankofa II, the Detroit Pistons will be without Blake Griffin and Derrick Rose when they take on the Philadelphia 76ers Saturday night. Griffin is being held out for injury management purposes while Rose is out with left knee soreness.
Rose and Griffin are the Pistons second and third points-per-game leaders on the team, respectively. Griffin has started 12 games for the Pistons, while Rose has come off the bench in 12 games but has not started a game this season. Expect Wayne Ellington to feature more prominently in the Pistons’ offence tonight. Over the last three games, he’s averaging north of 30 minutes, with 19.3 points on 52.9% shooting, including 56.7% from three-point range. Sekou Doumbouya is listed behind Griffin on the Pistons depth chart and has been used sparingly this season, averaging 3.7 points and 10.9 minutes over 14 games. Ellington and his $3,900 salary is a low-cost option with tons of upside. Doumbouya has a $3,500 salary.
Detroit is 6.5 point home dogs, although juiced to -114, with a total of 215.5. Tip-off is scheduled for 8:10 pm EST.
