DeVante Parker suffered hamstring injury Sunday
DeVante Parker suffered a hamstring injury in Miami’s loss to the Chiefs on Sunday. Tom Pelissero of the NFL Network reports a “slight” hamstring ailment for Parker. The Dolphins receiver left the game in the first quarter and did not return. With the early exit, Parker had his first zero catch game of the season.
The 2015 first-round pick may have to wait to avenge his goose egg performance with his status up in the air for this week’s game against the Patriots. Number two receiver Jakeem Grant’s status is also to be determined as he too left the Chiefs game with a hamstring issue. Adding insult to further injury, Miami also lost tight end Mike Gesicki to what looked like a serious shoulder injury in the fourth quarter. Coming into Week 14 also missing their top three running backs, the Dolphins could look more like a practice squad against New England.
Rookie Lynn Bowden stands to have the biggest value bump with the pile of injuries on the offensive end. Bowden was the most target WR with nine targets in the KC loss. If Parker, Grant, and Gesicki can’t go, expect more of the same this week. Bowden is available in over 95% of traditional leagues if your team needs a boost for this weekend’s crucial fantasy playoff matchups. The former Kentucky Wildcat is a value play for $5000 in FanDuel DFS.
The Patriots at 6-7 are just two games back of the 8-4 Dolphins in the AFC East. This game could have major playoff implications in the wild card race. New England is a tough matchup even with a healthy offensive squad. The Patriots have the eighth-ranked pass defense and give up the seventh-fewest points in the league at 21.5 per game.
The under could be the play even with a full Miami team, but the 41.5 (-110) total at FanDuel’s Sportsbooks is really worth a good look now. The Dolphins putting up less than 21.5 (-108) against a solid Patriots defense is another solid play, while New England on the Moneyline +120 is an intriguing play as well.
