Devontae Booker Fantasy Outlook Explodes Following Josh Jacobs Injury Update
Las Vegas Raiders running back Josh Jacobs looks to be in danger of missing his team's Week 13 game against the New York Jets. Jacobs will obviously be an RB1 in fantasy if he can get on the field for this one, but his backup Devontae Booker should be on the RB2 radar if the ankle issue keeps Jacobs on the shelf.
Devontae Booker Fantasy Outlook
Booker has been really solid in relief of Jacobs this season, turning 5.4 carries into 29.6 rushing yards per game. That's good for 5.4 yards per carry, which is a significant improvement upon the 3.8 Jacobs averages.
Obviously, it's a small sample size, and defenses tend to stack the box more for Jacobs than Booker. But Booker should have no problem maintaining that efficiency in an increased role against the Jets. New York is a bottom-six defense by Football Outsiders' DVOA metrics, and the Jets are also a bottom-five scoring defense.
If Booker is Las Vegas' feature back, he should be a top-15 play at the position in fantasy, though his lack of pass-catching abilities does knock him down a peg in PPR formats.
