The Dolphins took a flier on Callaway earlier this season, but they have decided to waive the talented but troubled wide receiver. He was elevated from the practice squad for last week’s matchup vs. the Patriots but didn’t play a single offensive snap. With DeVante Parker and Jakeem Grant both on the way back, Callaway became expendable.
He will be placed on the waiver wire, and if goes unclaimed, he will become a restricted free agent free to sign with any team. It seems likely that someone else will take a chance on Callaway, who scored five touchdowns with the Browns as a rookie just two years ago.
