Donovan Mitchell Ruled Out Wednesday vs. Mavericks
January 27Matt LaMarcaSportsGrid
Mitchell suffered a concussion on Tuesday vs. the Knicks, and he has been officially ruled out for Wednesday’s game vs. the Mavericks. Mitchell was limited to just nine points on 3-15 shooting vs. the Knicks, so the concussion does explain his poor shooting performance. However, the Jazz were still able to secure a comfortable win in that contest, which extended their win streak to nine games.
Jordan Clarkson is a prime candidate to replace Mitchell in the starting lineup, and he’s seen a team-high usage bump of +2.0% with Mitchell off the court this season. He’s averaged 1.13 FanDuel points per minute in that situation, which makes him an appealing target on tonight’s DFS slate.
The Jazz were previously listed as 3.5-point favorites vs. the Mavericks on FanDuel Sportsbook, but expect that line to be on the move. It wouldn’t be shocking if the Mavericks become road favorites with Mitchell out of the lineup.
