Adam Schefter reports that Drew Brees has been given a clean bill of health and will start against the Chiefs on Sunday. The Saints quarterback missed the last four games with multiple broken ribs in addition to a punctured lung.
When asked about Brees’s status on Wednesday, head coach Sean Payton stated that “He’s got a ways to go still, and… We’re not gonna just hurry (him) back.” However, Brees intimated that he was ahead of schedule and “feels better” in a scheduled weekly interview with Cox Sports Television.
In nine games this season, ESPN ranks Brees third in the league with a total QBR of 80.1. The Saints signal-caller has an 18:3 touchdown to interception ratio and leads all quarterbacks with a 73.5 completion percentage. Brees is currently priced at $7,500 over at FanDuel.
