Jackson was placed on injured reserve with an ankle injury in Week 8, but he is going to attempt to return before the end of the season. The Eagles have officially activated the 21-day window for Jackson to return to practice, which gives him a shot at suiting up in one of their final two games.
Jackson will join a receiving corps that has suddenly become crowded. Rookie first-round pick Jalen Reagor and tight end Dallas Goedert led the team with eight targets Sunday vs. the Cardinals, and Zach Ertz wasn’t far behind at seven. Alshon Jeffery and Greg Ward are also still around, as is early-season hero Travis Fulgham. Quez Watkins even got involved last week, logging four targets and scoring a 32-yard touchdown. It’s tough to say where Jackson will fit in this group, especially if he’s less than 100%.
The Eagles are technically still alive in the NFC East, but they’re going to need a lot of help over the final few weeks. They have to win their final two games against the Cowboys and Washington, and they also need Washington to lose this week vs. the Panthers. If Washington wins that matchup – they’re currently 1.5-point favorites on FanDuel Sportsbook – it would officially eliminate the Eagles from playoff contention.
