Eagles will likely be without key offensive players against Washington
It looks like Miles Sanders and Dallas Goedert are trending to not playing in the game that will determine the NFC East’s fate on Sunday night. Although the Eagles are eliminated from the playoff picture, they have a golden opportunity if they can defeat division-rival Washington this week. They’ll likely have to do it without their best running back and the top yard getting tight end on the team. Both Sanders and Goedert did not practice on Friday, and while listed as questionable on the injury report, it’s becoming more and more doubtful either will play in this crucial divisional game. Goedert left last Sunday’s loss against Dallas with a calf injury, while Sanders was kind of a big surprise addition to the injury list on Thursday.
Boston Scott becomes a very interesting acquisition in FanDuel DFS. The Eagles back has had double-digit carries in every game Sanders has missed this season. Scott was productive, putting up a few touchdowns while being active in the passing game in Sanders’s absence. The former Louisiana Tech product comes at a very cap friendly $4900 price tag. While not quite as valuable in standard fantasy leagues, Scott can be had in over 80% of leagues.
Without Goedert, former single-season TE receptions record holder Zach Ertz gets a nice boost in value. Ertz’s usage has dropped off this season with the emergence of Goedert, but he has suddenly become a favorite target of new quarterback Jalen Hurts. Ertz has 14 targets in the past two games, both with Hurts as the starter. The long-time Eagle was barely getting a look when Carson Wentz was under center. You can plug Ertz in for just $5300, and he’s available in almost 50% of leagues holding their championship game this week.
