Free-agent Eddie Rosario will sign with Cleveland. Rosario was non-tendered by the Twins in early December. With Minnesota, Rosario has averaged 27 home runs, 88 RBIs, and an .812 OPS in 142 games from 2017-19. Except for an OPS, Rosario was on pace to surpass all of those numbers in the shortened 2020 season. The biggest knock on Rosario has been his defense, as he may be best suited to be a designated hitter. It’s a little bit of a surprise that Rosario would end up in Cleveland as they seemed to be trying to pare down payroll this offseason, but no details of the signing have been released as of yet.
