Each week, we take a look ahead at what might be enticing among the free agents one week from now. So we’re going to get into the Week 10 waivers in a minute, helping you see which players might be good pickups now, beating your competition to the waiver wire on Tuesday.
In other words, if you’re a pretty good team (headed for the Fantasy playoffs), you likely rank low on the waiver wire, which means all the bad teams will get first picks among the best waiver choices, and you’ll get scraps. But right now, in your league, you’re in a “First Come, First Served” time period, so why not take advantage and grab a player or two that might be great picks for Week 10?
After this weekend, there will be 10 NFL teams left that haven’t taken their bye weeks. That’s something you want to take into account as you begin making your waiver wire decisions. In other words, if you are choosing between two like players, and one has already had his bye week, while the other has his coming up in Week 11, then go with the former.
Also, nearly as important, is the fact that we’re done with the six-team bye weeks, and we only have two four-team bye weeks, and one two-team bye week left. In other words, the talent level for starters in Weeks 10-13, will be better than in Weeks 8 and 9, because there are more players to choose from.
