Hawks will have multiple players miss Saturday’s game with Cavaliers
The Atlanta Hawks will be without the services of a collection of their rotation players when they face the Cavaliers Saturday night. Danilo Gallinari, who last played Wednesday before missing the Hawks rematch with the Nets on New Year’s Day, will miss his second-straight game with a sprained right ankle.
Rajon Rondo joins his small forward teammate on the pine Saturday. Rondo also missed Friday’s game and will be out for two in a row because of lingering left knee problems.
Tony Snell (right foot) and Onyeka Okongwu (left foot) are still waiting to make their season debut after being in sickbay for the Hawks’ first five games of the season. Neither holds much fantasy value, although Okongwu would have had an opportunity for minutes as snake-bitten as the Hawks are right now.
With Gallinari out, Cam Reddish, De’Andre Hunter, and John Collins are in line for a boost in playing time. Collins is already a no-brainer in all fantasy formats, whereas Reddish can be found in almost 50 percent of leagues and carries a bargain-basement price of $4900 on FanDuel DFS. Hunter has already had a great start to the season, putting up 14.2 points and 6.8 boards per game, yet is still hanging around in almost 60 percent of leagues and has even a better price than Reddish at $4600.
In the backcourt, Kevin Huerter and Brandon Goodwin will get an uptick with Rondo out. Huerter is the better play and put up ten points and four steals in 21 minutes against Brooklyn on Friday with Rondo hurt. Huerter comes in as the cheapest of the bunch with a thrifty buy rate of $4000.
While you can skip the guards, it’s worth heading to FanDuel’s Sportsbook to look at Reddish and Hunter props. Both players should be in the middle of the offense and get a fair amount of minutes.
