The Las Vegas Raiders are dealing with another COVID-19 situation, and this time it has to do with their rookie wide receiver Henry Ruggs. According to Adam Schefter, Ruggs was placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list on Tuesday, which means he’ll be out for Thursday’s action against the Chargers.
It doesn’t seem that Ruggs will have much of an impact on the point spread as the Raiders remain a 3.5-point favorite in the game. Ruggs has been a bit underwhelming in his first year and hasn’t been targetted more than five times in any of the Raiders’ games this season.
One player that could see more targets with Ruggs out is Hunter Renfrow. The Chargers will likely look to clamp down on Nelson Agholor and Darren Waller as they’ve consistently been Derek Carr’s favorite targets for much of the season. This could be a good buy-low spot for Renfrow, who was guilty of a fumble on Sunday and finished the game with only 38 receiving yards.
