Robinson missed Week 16 with an ankle injury, and head coach Doug Marrone said that Robinson would miss Week 17 as well. He was phenomenal as a rookie, rushing for 1070 yards and 4.5 yards per carry and adding 49 catches for 344 yards as a receiver. He also scored 10 touchdowns despite playing for one of the worst offenses in all of football. Overall, it was one of the greatest fantasy seasons ever for an undrafted rookie.
With Robinson out of the lineup, Dare Ogunbowale will likely be looking at another expanded workload vs. the Colts. He finished with 14 carries for 71 yards in his last game, and the rest of the Jaguars’ backfield combined for just two carries. Ogunbowale also saw five targets out of the backfield, which is not surprising given his abilities as a pass-catcher. He played almost exclusively as a receiving back last year for the Buccaneers, finishing with 35 catches for 286 yards.
The Jaguars have had a dreadful season, but there could be a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. They have locked up the worst record in the NFL after the Jets inexplicably won back-to-back games, which means the Jaguars will own the top pick in the 2021 NFL Draft. That likely means a shot at drafting Trevor Lawrence, who has the potential to be a franchise savior for the Jaguars.
