Jake Lamb and the Atlanta Braves have agreed to a one-year deal pending physical and intake testing.
The former All-Star struggled with injuries for the last three seasons and hasn’t played a full campaign since his 2017 All-Star season. In September, Lamb was released by the Arizona Diamondbacks after slugging .140 in 50 plate appearances but was signed by the Oakland Athletics shortly thereafter. Lamb benefitted from the change of scenery and went on a bit of a redemption tour. In limited action for the A’s, Lamb slugged .556 and swatted three dingers. Lamb will be used in a complementary role to Austin Riley, who is penciled in at third.
The Braves open the season near the top of the futures board, priced at +1000 at FanDuel Sportsbook.
