The Pittsburgh Steelers could see running back James Conner back with the team for their clash against the Colts on Sunday. Conner was a late scratch for Pittsburgh’s Monday night game against the Bengals due to a quad injury. In his absence, Benny Snell Jr. took up the role as the feature back and finished with 18 carries for 84 yards and a touchdown in their loss.
After starting the season with 11 straight wins, the Steelers lost their last three games and have dropped to the third seed in the AFC playoff race. Perhaps Pittsburgh’s lack of balance offensively is coming home to roost as they’re ranked 29th in the league with just 37% of run plays, according to TeamRankings.com. In fact, in their last three games, no other team in the league has had fewer running plays (29.35%) than the Steelers.
Facing the Colts will not be an easy task for Conner as Indianapolis is tied for second in the league in allowing opponents just 3.8 yards per carry. Conner’s price tag at FanDuel is currently sitting at $6,100 for this week.
