Even before the game between the Rockets and Thunder was canceled Wednesday, the NBA had ruled that Harden would be unavailable for the game. Harden was fined $50K and ruled to have violated the NBA’s health and safety rules when a video surfaced of him partying maskless at a club. Harden has tested negative for the past three days, but it still unknown if he will be allowed to play Saturday against Portland.
Harden and the Rockets have had their issues this offseason, and Harden has been the subject of trade rumors since he reported late to training camp. Harden may not be the player he once was, but he still averaged over 34 points per game last season. The question for Saturday, assuming the Rockets play, will be how many minutes will Harden see on the hardwood. The speculation for tonight was 20, but that could change with two more days of practice.
