Bad news for Caris LeVert and his new Indiana Pacers squad, after a mass was found on his kidney following a post-trade medical assessment. Shams Charania reports that the Pacers shooting guard will be out indefinitely.
LeVert was one of the pieces moved in the James Harden trade earlier this week. The Pacers could have cancelled the trade but released a statement noting that his “on-court play speaks for itself and we know he has a great career ahead of him.”.
LeVert has improved his metrics year-over-year in the NBA; although he has yet to play with the Pacers, he is averaging 18.5 points, 3.5 rebounds and 6.0 assists. With Victor Oladipo being shipped out at as a part of the trade, expect Aaron Holiday to move into the starting lineup and Malcolm Brogdon to take an even more significant role on the team.
The Pacers are +4900 on the NBA Finals Champion futures board at FanDuel Sportsbook and are +500 to win the Central Division.
