Huge news coming out of the NFL that the Los Angeles Rams have traded Jared Goff, two future first-round picks, and a third-round pick to the Detroit Lions for Matthew Stafford, as reported by Adam Schefter.
Stafford’s grievances with the Lions were well-documented, and it was reported that he had requested a trade out of Detroit. The Rams were NFC Champions in 2019 before losing to the New England Patriots in Super Bowl LIII but have been treading water thanks to mediocre quarterback play since then. John Wolford started the Wild Card Round of the Rams’ playoffs as Goff was limited due to a thumb injury. Goff was forced into action when Wolford went down, and the Rams went on to defeat the Seattle Seahawks before losing to the Green Bay Packers in the Divisional round.
NFL futures for the 2021 NFL season will open following the Super Bowl, and the Stafford acquisition will surely move the Rams up the futures board.
