The Mavericks are dealing with a COVID-19 outbreak, and their Monday game vs. the Pelicans has been rescheduled per The Athletic’s Shams Charania. Maxi Kleber tested positive for the virus and is expected to miss the next 10-to-14 days, while Josh Richardson, Dorian Finney-Smith, and Josh Richardson were all identified as high-risk close contacts. There have been no reports of any additional positive tests, but it wouldn’t be surprising if that news is released shortly.
The postponement means we’ll have to wait a little longer for Kristaps Porzingis to make his season debut. He was expected to play for the first time since injuring his knee in the playoffs last season.
There has been no official word on when this game will be made up or if the Mavericks’ next scheduled game vs. the Hornets on Wednesday is also in jeopardy.
