Michael Carter-Williams Ruled Out vs. Hornets; Aaron Gordon and James Ennis Will Play
January 25Matt LaMarcaSportsGrid
Carter-Williams has been ruled out for the 10th straight game due to a foot injury, which leaves the team without their top two PG options vs. the Hornets. Gordon has served as more of a distributor since the injury to Markelle Fultz — he leads the team with an average of 6.9 assists over that time frame — and he will be back in the lineup after missing Sunday’s contest due to hip and back injuries. Ennis will also play on the second leg of a back-to-back, but head coach Steve Clifford did say he would be on a minute restriction.
Evan Fournier has been an excellent source of fantasy value for the Magic since returning to the lineup three games ago. He’s posted a usage rate of 30.9% over that time frame, and he’s scored at least 32.2 FanDuel points in all three contests. That makes him an appealing DFS target vs. the Hornets.
The Magic are currently listed as 1.5-point favorites vs. the Hornets on FanDuel Sportsbook.
