Michael Porter Jr. Ruled Out Tuesday vs. Timberwolves
January 4Matt LaMarcaSportsGrid
Porter Jr. has been ruled out for Tuesday’s contest vs. the Timberwolves due to health and safety protocols. He also missed each of the Nuggets’ past two games, and it is unclear when he will ultimately be able to return to the lineup. Porter Jr. got off to a hot start offensively this season, averaging 19.5 points through his first four games, and his absence will allow Will Barton to assume a larger role in the rotation. Barton has started in place of Porter Jr. in each of the past two games, and his results have been inconsistent. He finished with 20.0 FanDuel points over nearly 36 minutes on Friday and racked up 29.2 FanDuel points over 21.9 minutes on Sunday. If Barton can combine the per-minute production from his second start with the playing time from his first, he could be an excellent fantasy option on Tuesday.
