Mike Gesicki, DeVante Parker, Jakeem Grant Questionable vs. Patriots
Injuries are really starting to pile up for the Miami Dolphins. Mike Gesicki, DeVante Parker, Jakeem Grant will all be questionable Sunday against the Patriots. As ESPN’s Dolphins beat reporter, Cameron Wolfe, reports, all three players were limited in practice Friday. This is coming just a week after Miami had its top three running backs on the shelf.
To begin the week, all three members of the Dolphins pass-catching core were trending toward missing this week’s game with New England. Following Friday’s practice, Parker and Gesicki specifically appear to be on track to suit up for Week 15.
Playing against New England’s seventh-ranked pass defense, allowing just 218 yards per game, Miami’s offense could struggle even if healthy. Both wideouts look more like low-end WR3s and WR2s at best, while Gesicki, at the premium tight end position with his touchdown catching ability, would be a TE1 if he plays.
If any or all three of these players cannot answer the bell rookie, Lynn Bowden Jr. should see the most significant boost. Bowden had career-highs in receptions (7), targets (9), and receiving yards (82) last week in Miami’s loss to the Chiefs. At $5,000, he could be a nice value pick at FanDuel’s DFS.
Miami’s offense is already ranked 30th, averaging just 335 yards per game while sitting middle of the pack in scoring points. A struggling banged-up offense going up against a tough defense even when healthy could have a tough time scoring points.
