Mike Gesicki Returns to Practice on Thursday
It seemed almost certain that Gesicki would be forced to miss at least one game for the Dolphins after dislocating his shoulder last week vs. the Chiefs, but he was able to return to practice on a limited basis on Thursday. If he’s able to practice again on Friday, that would appear to put him on track to suit up in Week 15 after all.
Gesicki has emerged as one of Tua Tagovailoa’s favorite targets recently. He’s averaged 7.3 targets, 5.3 receptions, and 62.7 yards over his past three games, and he’s scored at least one touchdown in all three contests. Overall, he’s averaged 16.9 FanDuel points per game over that time frame.
The Dolphins are currently fighting for one of the final playoff spots in the AFC, so getting Gesicki back in the lineup would be a huge addition. They’re currently tied with the Ravens at 8-5, but the Dolphins are currently ahead in the standings due to a slightly better conference record. That means the Dolphins control their own destiny, but they need to win out to guarantee themselves a playoff spot.
The Dolphins take the field in a huge divisional matchup this week vs. the Patriots, and they’re currently listed as 1.5-point favorites on FanDuel Sportsbook.
