Miles Sanders won’t play Sunday night versus the Washington Football Team. This little piece of news has forced Giants and Cowboy fans to do some grumbling as they both need the Eagles to defeat the WFT to make the playoffs. Sanders has been banged up all season and now is nursing a knee injury. When healthy, Sanders is a home run hitter who can hit paydirt from almost anywhere on the field. However, this season, Sanders has only played in 12 games, rushed for 867 yards and six touchdowns, and caught 48 passes for 457 yards and three more scores. Boston Scott will start in his place. The Eagles will also be without DeSean Jackson and Dallas Goedert in this contest.
The Eagles have monitored Sanders touches this season, but that still hasn’t been enough to keep him healthy. If the Eagles lose Sunday night, they could have a top-five pick in this year’s NFL Draft, and while running back may not be on the menu, a wide receiver could be. The Eagles are currently three-point underdogs to the WFT.
