The Blazers have played one of the tightest rotations in the league recently. Just eight players saw the court Sunday vs. the Celtics, and Powell’s 39 minutes ranked second on the squad. Since arriving in Portland, he’s started every game, but the Blazers may not have his services on the second leg of a back-to-back. He’s currently questionable with right knee tendinopathy, which refers to the breakdown of collagen in the tendon and can cause pain and reduced flexibility.
If Powell is unable to suit up, Derrick Jones Jr. is a candidate to move into the rotation. He’s been a DNP-CD in each of the past three games, but there would obviously be plenty of minutes available if Powell is ruled out. C.J. McCollum would also be a big beneficiary. He’s seen a team-high usage bump of +5.7% with Powell off the court since being acquired by the team, resulting in an average of 1.26 FanDuel points per minute.
The Blazers are currently listed as 2.5-point underdogs vs. the Hawks on FanDuel Sportsbook.
