Onyeka Okongwu Downgraded to Questionable Monday vs. Lakers
February 1Matt LaMarcaSportsGrid
Okongwu was initially listed as probable on the Hawks’ injury report, but he’s been downgraded to questionable with an Achilles injury. Okongwu hasn’t had much of an impact as a rookie, playing in just five games and averaging just 12.0 minutes in those contests. His average of 12.72 FanDuel points per game also makes him irrelevant from a fantasy perspective.
The bigger injuries for the Hawks involve Trae Young and De’Andre Hunter. Young is listed as probable, so he should be in the lineup Monday vs. the Lakers. Young has been on a roll recently, scoring at least 45.9 FanDuel points in seven straight games, but his price tag has gotten a bit expensive. That makes him tough to trust vs. the Lakers, who rank first in the league in defensive efficiency.
Hunter has already been ruled out, which does create some value with the rest of the roster. Cam Reddish should see a boost in playing time, with head coach Lloyd Pierce saying he’ll get the first crack at LeBron James on defense. Reddish has increased his usage rate by +4.0% with Hunter and Bogdan Bogdanovic off the court this season, resulting in an average of 0.92 FanDuel points per minute. That makes him an intriguing value play on Monday’s DFS slate.
The Hawks are currently listed as six-point underdogs vs. the Lakers on FanDuel Sportsbook.
