Rams “Hopeful” Cooper Kupp Can Play vs. Packers
Kupp is currently dealing with bursitis of the knee, and he was clearly in discomfort during the end of the Rams win over the Seahawks on Saturday. That said, head coach Sean McVay said the team is “hopeful” that he will suit up Saturday vs. the Packers. The Rams are currently listed as seven-point underdogs in that matchup on FanDuel Sportsbook.
If Kupp is unable to suit up, Van Jefferson and Josh Reynolds would be the most likely beneficiaries.
It’s also still unclear who will start at quarterback vs. the Packers. John Wolford drew the start last week but left the game in the first quarter after suffering a stinger. Jared Goff came in and led the team to victory, but he is still dealing with a thumb injury that required surgery just a few weeks ago. McVay waited until the last possible second to make his decision at quarterback last week, so don’t expect him to rush to a decision vs. the Packers.
Finally, Aaron Donald is also dealing with an injury. He suffered torn rib cartilage last week vs. the Seahawks, but he is expected to play through it. Donald is arguably the best defensive player in the league, so the Rams will need him in the lineup to have a shot at stopping MVP-frontrunner Aaron Rodgers.
