Tampa Bay Buccaneers running back Ronald Jones was placed on the COVID-19 reserve list Wednesday, as reported by Greg Auman of the Athletic. Jones was identified as close contact and will need to test negative to be cleared for return. Jones was already questionable for the Buccaneers’ Week 15 matchup against the Atlanta Falcons after undergoing a procedure to have a pin inserted in his broken pinkie finger, suffered during a Week 14 matchup against the Minnesota Vikings.
Priced at $7,200 on Fanduel, Jones has established himself as the lead back in the Buccaneers offense. In 13 games this season, Jones has accounted for 59.41% of the team’s rushing market share, including 27% of the red zone opportunities and five touchdowns.
If Jones is unable to play Sunday, both Leonard Fournette ($5,500) and LeSean McCoy ($4,900) could see increased roles against a Falcons defense allowing 14.8 points to opposing running backs.
A matchup currently with a 50.5 total, the Buccaneers are a 6-point road favorite on Fanduel Sportsbook.
