Saints activate Alvin Kamara and Michael Thomas. Kamara had been on the COVID-IR after testing positive 10 days ago. Thomas had been on injured reserve due to a lingering ankle problem. The Saints expect both players to line up for the game Sunday versus the Bears
Kamara has had a spectacular season, rushing for 932 yards and 16 touchdowns and catching another 83 passes for 756 yards and five touchdowns. To put his season in perspective, you have to remember that Thomas has only played seven games this season, and Drew Brees missed four games of his own due to injury. At one point this season, the only offense the Saints had was Kamara, and everyone knew it, yet he still put up imposing numbers.
Thomas initially suffered the ankle injury in Week 1, missed six games because of it, came back, and played six games, but just wasn’t himself. Finally, the Saints decided to try and get him as healthy as possible for the playoffs and placed him on IR. How healthy he truly is remains to be seen, but he will play Sunday.
