Shane Bieber reports to spring training for Cleveland. Bieber had missed the first few days of camp due to testing positive for COVID-19 but is free to join workouts along with the rest of the team. In the shortened 2020 season, Bieber was 8-1 with a 1.63 ERA and 0.87 WHIP. He also stuck out 122 batters in just 77.1 IP. Bieber is a possible first-round draft pick in fantasy leagues this season as only a pair of New York starters, Jacob Degrom and Gerrit Cole, are consistently ranked higher than he is.
After trading Francisco Lindor and Carlos Carrasco to the Mets this offseason, Cleveland will need Bieber to have another CY Young campaign to make the playoffs once again. Cleveland is +750 to win the AL Central, +1700 to win the American League, and +4000 to win the World Series.
