Six Best Sneaky Week 10 Fantasy Football Options
Brandon Murchison of RotoExperts.com gives you the six best sneaky Week 10 Fantasy Football options.
Carson Wentz vs. Atlanta Falcons
Since the Eagles' Week 4 bye, Wentz has come crashing back down to earth. He has just four touchdowns over the last five games, and has thrown for less than 238 yards in four of those contests as well. Granted, defenses may be catching up to him, but it looks as though Wentz has hit the proverbial rookie wall. Things may lighten up in Week 10 when the Atlanta Falcons come to town, a defense that is surrendering the most points to opposing QBs. You can assume that the Falcons' offense will be firing on all cylinders in this one, putting Wentz in a position in which he will be playing from behind, which increases his opportunities for points. With the inability of the Eagles to establish a ground attack, Wentz could be around the 45 pass attempt mark in this matchup. If you are without the likes of Andrew Luck or Matt Stafford in Week 10, Carson Wentz is a very solid filler, as he should easily pass for over 300 yards in this one with two TDs. He will also be a low-owned option in DFS this week.
Ronnie Hillman @ Washington Redskins
Call this my longshot Sneaky Play of the Week. Sure, Hillman is third in line in the Vikings' backfield, but no one has separated from the pack and Hillman’s snaps have increased in each of the last three games. He has looked like the better back in the last two games, and in Week 10 he will get a favorable matchup against the suspect Redskins run defense. Washington has ranked near the bottom of the league during the last two seasons. The Vikings offense needs a spark, and I believe this to be the week that Hillman could provide that. Is he in line for a 20-carry game? Not at all. But if he flashes some potential on early game touches, Coach Zimmer will have no choice but to continue feeding the hot hand. I envision Hillman finishing this game with 10 carries and 80 total yards with a trip to the end zone. In seasonal leagues, he's not quite a starter, aside from being a potential flex option. However, he will be virtually unowned cheap option in DFS, who will allow you to build your roster elsewhere.
Tajae Sharpe vs. Green Bay Packers
A preseason darling entering the 2016 season, Sharpe has been a major disappointment up until this point in the year. He has been fighting injuries, his snap counts have diminished and he has yet to score a touchdown this year. But as the Titans offense has started to pick up steam, Sharpe has slowly begun to find footing in the passing attack. With a matchup against the depleted Packers secondary in Week 10, Sharpe could finally break his scoreless streak. Aaron Rodgers and the Packers offense will score points, meaning Marcus Mariota and the offense must try to answer. The Titans will try and run the ball to keep Aaron Rodgers off the field, but the passing game must chip in as well. With Rishard Matthews being the top option over the last few weeks, look for the coverage to lean his way, freeing up room for Sharpe to take advantage. Look for Sharpe to finish with six catches for around 90 yards and a score. That makes him worthy of flex consideration, and a very cheap DFS option.
Dennis Pitta vs. Cleveland Browns
Pitta will be entering Week 10 as the second-most targeted TE, and he will be matched up against a Browns defense that is currently allowing the most points to the position. If you do the math, he will be a must-start this week. In a matchup earlier in the season, Pitta had a nine-catch, 100-yard performance against this same defense. Expect more of the same in this game. Coming off a game in which Jason Witten torched the Browns' defense, it is apparent that their weakness is covering the middle of the field, which will leave Pitta open for Joe Flacco all day. Pitta should finish this game with something like eight catches for 105 yards and a score. He's a must-start tight end and a player who may go overlooked in DFS.
Ryan Succop vs. Green Bay Packers
Succop is a kicker who is probably unowned in many leagues. But in a matchup that should see plenty of scoring, he is worth a flier in Week 10. The Titans' offense tends to perform better at home than on the road, which will give Succop a few chances to score. Look for a couple of field goals and three extra points, and you will have yourself a kicker that could be a solid investment for a cheap price in Week 10.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs. Chicago Bears
Week 8 saw the Bears' offense clicking on all cylinders against a very tough Vikings defense, leaving Fantasy owners wondering if this might be the Jay Cutler we'll see for the remainder of the season. Think again. IT’S A TRAP! Smokin Jay will be back to his usual ways, as the Bears take to the road against Tampa Bay. I have a feeling we will see the turnover machine in this game, which is good news for owners looking for a streaming option. Many DFS players may shy away from the Bucs' defense after the Bears' last performance, which could give you an edge in a winning lineup. Plug in the Bucs and let the points come to you.
