Texans’ Brandin Cooks expected to play in Week 15 against Colts
Brandin Cooks should be back in the Texans lineup Sunday afternoon for a matchup with divisional rival Indianapolis. Houston’s wideout missed Week 14 against the Bears with neck soreness.
The passing game certainly felt Cook’s absence. Deshaun Watson passed for just 219 yards and one touchdown, Houston’s only points in the 36-7 blowout loss. The Texans were already lean on pass catchers with Will Fuller V suspended for violating the NFL’s policy on performance-enhancing substances. With Fuller out, a healthy Cooks is the number one receiving threat for the Texans in Week 15.
When they last played the Colts, Cooks caught 5-of-8 targets for 65 yards in Week 13 without Fuller out of the lineup. Indianapolis’ defense has been tough all year but is much better at stopping the run than the pass. The Colts allow just 99 yards per game on the ground for the No. 5 ranked run defense while ranked 13th against the pass.
The Texans have already opened up as a +7 underdog on FanDuel’s Sportsbook. A road game against a Colts team that dropped 44 on the Raiders last week looks like playing from behind and going pass-heavy is a likely outcome. Cooks will be the biggest beneficiary of a consistent air attack and worth a look at a decent $6600 FanDuel DFS price tag. Come back later in the week to check out Cooks’ props numbers on the FanDuel Sportsbook.
