“That Guy” in Your Fantasy League Just Got Awesome-r With NFL.com’s Ridiculous “Roster Options”
Did Fantasy Football just jump the shark over at NFL.com?
Their Fantasy league service now has a “Roster Options” setting custom leagues can pay for that allows you to swap out your starters with your bench players – after games have been completed that week.
That idiot in your league that always starts two guys on bye weeks will now be dominating in your Fantasy playoffs.
It’s like going back to the 7-11 the day after the lottery numbers are read, and telling them you’d like a do-over. Of course, you’ll have to pay a nominal fee for that right.

That’s right, for a small fee (99 cents for one player swap or you can swap out your entire team for $3.99) paid before the weekend starts, you can guarantee you have the best players in your lineup no matter what.
You’ll never choose garlic chip ice cream for dessert again!

Here’s how it works over at NFL.com:
HOW DO ROSTER OPTIONS WORK?
Best of all, roster options are simple. It can’t be easier to get started today.
1. Custom league manager turns the Roster Options setting on during the “Create League” process or via the “Edit Roster Options” manage tool.
2. Team Owners click “Buy” button available on My Team page for all benched players.
3. Complete the purchase process.
4. If a player you purchased an option for outscores a player in your starting lineup (at an eligible position), NFL.com automatically makes the post-game substitution and your total score is updated.
Bad Decisions Can Still Be Good Decisions
There are many decisions in life we think about year after year, wishing we could get a big do-over. Decisions like marrying our insecure high school sweetheart, going into the family manure business and rooting for the Cleveland Browns.
But none of them compare to that time in Week 13 of the 2015 Fantasy Football season, when you started Redskins rookie RB Matt Jones over Ravens rookie RB Javorius Allen. That 18-point difference cost you a playoff spot – and all of your yelling probably stunted the emotional growth of your 3-year-old son.
Those bad decisions in your life, though, have turned you into the person you are today – good or bad – and it has forced you to think about other decisions in a more scrupulous manner.
NFL.com believes they’ve made it easier for you to correct your dumb Fantasy decisions – just pay them!
