Tristan Thompson Game-Time Decision Wednesday vs. Bucks
December 23Matt LaMarcaSportsGrid
Thompson missed all of the preseason with a hamstring injury, but he appears to be trending in the right direction for the Celtics’ season-opener vs. the Bucks. He was able to take part in the Celtics’ past three practices, and he told reporters that he was feeling good following Wednesday’s shootaround. A final decision won’t be made on his status until after pre-game warmups, but it sounds as though Thompson will be available to make his Celtics’ debut.
Thompson is going to compete at center with Daniel Theis, who did a solid job for the Celtics last season. He averaged 9.2 points, 6.6 rebounds, and 1.3 blocks per game, resulting in an average of 24.57 FanDuel points in just 24.1 minutes per game. It’s unclear whether Theis or Thompson will draw the start at center this season, but Stevens did say that Thompson would be on a minutes limit if he’s active.
The Celtics will start their season with a tough task vs. the Bucks, and they’re currently listed as four-point home underdogs on FanDuel Sportsbook.
