Tristan Thompson (Rest) Out Wednesday vs. Grizzlies; Jayson Tatum (Thumb) Questionable

The Celtics have released their injury report for Wednesday’s 7:30 p.m. ET contest vs. the Grizzlies, and they have the potential to be without two members of their frontcourt. Thompson will get the night off for rest, which is not all that surprising on the second leg of a back-to-back. He’s been limited to start the year after missing the entire preseason with a hamstring injury, and he played a season-high 26.8 minutes in yesterday’s contest. With Thompson out of the lineup, look for Daniel Theis to see a few additional minutes as the starting center. Robert Williams and Grant Williams could also see some extra run off the bench.
Tatum is the bigger name to watch. He’s emerged as the Celtics’ clear top offensive option, and he leads the team with a usage rate of 31.7% through their first four games. Jaylen Brown would be asked to carry the load if he’s ultimately ruled out, and he’s increased his fantasy production to 1.25 FanDuel points per minute with Tatum off the court this season. Jeff Teague has also increased his usage rate by a whopping 15.7% off the bench, so he could have some appeal as a contrarian target in FanDuel tournaments.
