The Houston Rockets are swapping guards Victor Oladipo and John Wall in the starting lineup for tonight’s contest against the Dallas Mavericks. Rockets beat writer Jonathan Feigen confirmed that Wall would return to the starting lineup after missing the last five games with left knee soreness. Oladipo’s absence is expected, as he has not played back-to-back contests this season, as part of the pre-season maintenance plan.
Wall has played in only seven games this season and is averaging 18.6 points, 4.7 rebounds, and 5.1 assists while playing 33.9 minutes a game. Wall is priced in the upper-tier of point guards, carrying a $7,600 salary. Ben McLemore slots behind Oladipo on the Rockets depth chart and figures to start. McLemore averages 12.0 points, 3.0 rebounds, and 2.5 assists as a starter this season.
The Rockets have their work cut out for them, as they are 9.5 point dogs in the intra-state matchup with the Mavs.
